BURNESS "Burny" GUIDRY, Jr. Obituary

Burness J. Guidry, 73, of Hope, RI passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Margaret M. (Dobson) Guidry.

Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Burness J. Guidry Sr. and Carole M. (Kolis) Guidry.

Burness was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School and University of Rhode Island. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Burny, as he was fondly called, was a basketball coach for more than 20 years for CYO, girl’s high school and AAU teams. Upon his retirement from Chariho Regional School as a Special Ed teacher at RYSE, he became a strength and conditioning coach certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Remy Guidry of Astoria, NY, Toby Guidry of Los Angeles, CA and Margaux Zwierko of Huntersville, NC; a sister, Darlene Rose of Hanover, PA and 4 grandchildren, Henry, Caroline, Ryleigh and Morgan.

His Funeral Services and Burial will be private for the family.
