Barbara A. Carlson

FALL RIVER- Barbara A. Carlson, 88, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Carvalho Grove Health and Rehab Center in Fall River. 

Born on April 10, 1933 in Providence, RI, she was one of five children born to John Maxwell, Sr. and Irene (Tasker) Maxwell. 

For many years Barbara worked as a House Keeping Supervisor at Kent Hospital in Warwick. When younger, she attended Cornerstone Methodist Church in Coventry with her family.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed knitting, watching old movies, decorating cake, and playing bingo. Above all, Barbara was most happy when she was in the presence of and making memories with her dear family, especially her grandchildren and grand-puppies. 

Barbara is survived by her devoted children: Raymond Carlson and Linea McQuay; her cherished grandchildren: Haylee McQuay, Saydee McQuay, Bryan Carlson, Stefany Carlson, and Taylor Carlson; her siblings Irene Lee and John Maxwell, and also extended nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

In addition to her parents, Barbara is predeceased by her siblings: Louise Nye and Jean Maxwell. 

Barbara’s funeral service will be private. Burial will be held at North Burial Ground, Branch Ave., Providence.
