CAROLE L. (BERARD) COATES

COATES, CAROLE L. (BERARD), 83, of Coventry, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was the wife of the late Gordon A. Coates. Born in Taunton, MA,  she was a daughter of the late Normand G. and Louise (Cote) Berard.

After graduating from high school, Carole went on to earn a Degree in Nursing from the former St. Anne’s School of Nursing in Fall River. She furthered her education and graduated from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree. Carole was a licensed clinical social worker with a private practice and made a difference in many people’s lives.

Carole loved spending time with her family, cooking and deep sea fishing. She was known for her love of animals and her sense of humor. 

Carole was the mother of Sheila M. Brennan of Greene and Jeffrey G. Coates (Tammy) of North Carolina. She was the grandmother of the late Matthew Brennan (Tammi Gardner), Zachary Brennan, Rebecca Hollars, Justin Coates and the great-grandmother of six. Carole was the sister of the late Norma Clark.

Visiting hours will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:15 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:15 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.,(95/exit 18/Rte.3) Coventry.  Interment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. iannottifh.com
