HUGHES, CAROLYN E., 88, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Kent Regency Center, Warwick.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Lavinia (Cameron) Goddard.
After graduating from the St. Mary Bay View Academy, Carolyn went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Bryant College. She spent her career as a Legal Secretary for the Law offices of Hinkley and Allen for many years. As an active member in her community, Carolyn was a loyal parishioner of Saints John & Paul Church, Coventry, where she also was a Catechism Teacher, and she also enjoyed being a Cub Scout Leader. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano and taking trips to the casino to test her luck with the slot machines. She was a lifelong fan of all sports, Carolyn was especially a fan of the Rhode Island Reds Hockey team, where she was even a season ticket holder. Above all things, any time that Carolyn was spending with her family, was what she cherished most.
She was the mother of Howard Hughes, his companion Jayme Verrier, and Michele Maimone. Carolyn was the grandmother of Nicole Tanner and Sophia Maimone; great grandmother of Alexia, Luke, and Faye. She was also the sister of the late Thomas and Frederick Goddard.
Funeral Services are respectfully private. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
