MOORE, Carolyn H., 69, of Robinson Way, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Riverview Healthcare Community. She was the wife of Willard S. Moore, Jr.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Wanda (Luczak) Gontarek.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Lisa Snyder and her husband Robert of Ashaway, Jennifer McDonough and her husband James of West Warwick and her step-son, Todd St. Peter of Baldwinsville, NY; a brother, Robert Gontarek of Tyler, Texas and 9 grandchildren, Samantha, Averi, Collin, Ethan, Jackson, Grayson, Nathan, Bentley and Cade. She was a sister of the late Charles, John and Edward Gontarek.
Carolyn built her career as a Human Resources professional, holding various positions with BIF, a division of General Signal, Worcester Textiles and Toray Plastics until her retirement. Carolyn’s greatest joys, outside of her 9 grandchildren, included membership in the RI Chapter of Sweet Adelines, singing in an all-female quartet (Stand Room Only or SRO) and various other show choirs. She loved the challenge of a daily crossword puzzle and was a lifelong athlete and avid golfer who could often be found on the links with her husband, brother Charlie and many friends.
Her Funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Coventry. Interment will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Butler Hospital Memory & Aging Program, 345 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
