CECILE ELLA (GERVAIS) LAVOIE

LAVOIE, CECILE E. (GERVAIS) 99, formerly of Gervais Street, Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital on Thursday, April 3, 2025. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Leo J. Lavoie in 2013. Born on the Gervais family farm in Coventry, she was a daughter of the late Francois X. and Arcelia (Plante) Gervais. 

Cecile worked at various Lace Mills in the Pawtuxet Valley for many years. After retiring, Cecile and her late husband Leo enjoyed spending over 40 years at their winter home in Tamarac, Florida. She also enjoyed spending time on Johnson's Pond with her family.

Cecile was the mother of Ronald L. Lavoie and his wife Sharon of Coventry. She was the grandmother of Ronald J. Lavoie and Lauren R. Sheldon and her husband Mark. Cecile is also survived by her great-grandson Troy A. Sheldon, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Annette Grygiel, Blanche Langlais, Etiennette “Elaine” Gervais, Emilienne Gervais, Yvette Gervais, Yvonne Gervais, Rita Gervais, Emile Gervais and Alcide Gervais.

To honor Cecile’s wishes, Funeral Services and interment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter will be private. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT in Coventry. iannottifh.com
