CHARLES J. WORTHINGTON

WORTHINGTON, Charles J., 82, of Roberts Ave., passed away at home  surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Shirley D. (Manning) Worthington and the late Theresa Worthington.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Agnes Ida (Young) Worthington.

Charles was a member of the American Legion Post 12 and The Legion Riders for many years.  He was a member of Tall Cedars Clown unit and a Mason for many years and several other organizations.  He also did volunteer work for RI Food Bank, delivered food to homeless veterans and Senior centers until falling ill.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Joseph Worthington of Warwick, Charles E. Worthington and his companion Donna Dull of Warwick and Jeff Worthington and his companion Lynn Lamothe of West Warwick; two step-daughters, Dawn St. Martin and her husband Lee of Coventry and Lori Flanagan and her husband Ed of Warwick; a brother, Fred Worthington and his wife Cheryl of Lawrence, MA; a sister, Bertha Colvin of North Scituate; grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Leon, Lindsay, Austin, Aubree and two great-grandchildren.  He was a brother of the late Joseph Worthington.

His Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10:15 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd. (Rte.3), Coventry.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Sunday 3:00 – 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the VNA of Care New England Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.
