CLAIRE M. (CHAPUT) HAJIAN

HAJIAN (CHAPUT), CLAIRE M., 95, formerly of Narragansett, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry. She was the beloved wife of 64 years to the late Harry G. Hajian.

Born in Coventry, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Alice (Pelletier) Chaput; sister of the late Rene Chaput.   

A natural born caregiver, Claire spent her career as a Registered Nurse caring for patients at hospitals and institutions throughout the state of Rhode Island. Claire made her entrance into the world by winning a local beauty pageant by the age of 16, unbeknownst to her parents. She met the love of her life when she was a student at St. Joseph’s Nursing School, and Harry a student at Providence College.  Claire loved to entertain and host get togethers for family and friends, She expressed her love by cooking gourmet meals. She enjoyed family getaways in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

She was the loving mother of Harry Hajian, Jr. and his wife Nathell of California, Kristin Jacobs and her husband Michael of Coventry, Seth Hajian and his wife Andrea of Cranston, and the late Howard Hajian. Loving grandmother of Dashiell, David, Erin, and Ian. 

Burial with committal prayers in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI is respectfully private. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
