CLAIRE M. (BLANCHETTE) RICE

CLAIRE M. RICE, 89, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.

Born in West Warwick, Claire was a daughter of the late Leon N. and Julia V. (Cloutier) Blanchette. 

A lifelong resident of Coventry, Claire worked for many years at Coro Manufacturing, Providence and Claire retired from Leviton Manufacturing in Warwick. 

Claire was the mother of the late Ken Blanchette. Sister of Carol Mayer of Coventry, Leon Blanchette Jr. of Foster, Paul Blanchette of West Warwick and the late Diane Blanchette and Robert “Doc” Blanchette. Claire was also predeceased by her beloved canine companions, “Freeway” and “Coco”. She is survived by her loving nephew, Keith Paul, many dear nieces and nephews.

Claire’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial is respectfully private.
