CLARENCE MONROE MOORE

MOORE, CLARENCE M., 90, of Marshall Circle, Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Barbara Ann (Hill) Moore in 2015. Born in Coventry, he was a son of the late E. Stanley and Esther (Cornell) Moore. 

Clarence owned and operated Moore’s Motor Service Inc. in Coventry, also known as “Moore’s Garage” a family business established in 1927 by Clarence’s father; in operation for three generations. Clarence graduated from Coventry High School, class of 1950. He went on to serve in the United States Navy onboard the USS Mississippi during the Korean War.

Clarence enjoyed fishing and also, spending time with his family and friends.

He was the father of Michael A. Moore and his wife Beth, of Coventry and the late Steven D. Moore. He was the grandfather of Jason M. Moore, Torie Ann Beedle, Sean Steven Moore, Marshall Moore, Coty Michael Moore and Scott Moore. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren. Clarence was the brother of the late Willard Moore, Myrtle Craig, Milton Moore, Winifred Moore, Hazel Moore, June Moore, Leroy Moore, Waldo Moore.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10 am to 12 Noon, with a Service at 12 Noon in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St.,  (Rte.117) Coventry.
