CHAREST, CLIVE, R., 77, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the loving husband of the late Gail L. Brodeur, who predeceased Clive in 2016.
Born in Attleboro, MA Clive was a son of the late Ralph R. and Maureen (McKenzie) Charest.
Growing up in Seekonk, Massachusetts Clive graduated from East Providence High School before proudly enlisting to serve his country in the United States Army. Stationed in Vietnam, Clive was a Combat Medic on the front lines of battle where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, among many other commendations. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Clive was employed at Kent Hospital where he spent his 40 year career as an EEG Technician before retiring to Flagler Beach, Florida in 2009.
In his spare time, Clive enjoyed playing golf and was a lifelong fan of all the New England sport teams. He was an especially dedicated fan of the Providence Friars basketball team, having attended many memorable games throughout the years. He also loved to travel with his late wife Gail and adored any time he was in the presence of his grandchildren. He will be remembered for having a great sense of humor and easy going personality. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Clive is survived by his loving daughters, Kristen Benoit of Coventry and Danielle Iacobucci, her husband Derek, of Cranston. Adoring Grandpa of Julia, Kamryn, Carly, Gia, Lilly, and Jack. Brother of Terrance Charest and Victoria Moren. He is also survived by his step son, Erik Crepeau (Emma), and his former son-in-law, Michael Benoit. Nephew of Donald Charest of Vero Beach, Florida; Uncle to several loving nieces and nephews. Loving companion to Debbie Hamilton.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home AT MAPLE ROOT, 2000 NOOSENECK HILL ROAD (ROUTE 3), COVENTRY. Military Funeral Honors and inurnment to follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
