DANIEL MOON Obituary

DANIEL E. MOON, 64, of Exeter, passed away peacefully after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer at home on the morning of Sunday, September 7, 2025 with his loving wife of 43 years, Debbie Moon, son, Kevin Moon, and daughter, Kimberly Moriarty by his side.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of Edward A. and Janice M. (Schmitt) Moon.

He then went on to earn his automotive degree and obtained his CDL before spending his 43 year long career as a Supervisor with Ryder Truck, Warwick. He also worked at Cranston trucking for 20 plus years part time.

Born with a natural talent for woodworking and carpentry, Dan constructed his family's log cabin home in Exeter. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed the thrill of stock car racing and was the driver of the Number 13 car for over a decade at Connecticut's New London-Waterford Speedbowl. He also enjoyed constructing HO Scale model trains and coaching Pop Warner football.

He was the adoring “Grampie” AKA “Minky” to Jayde Moriarty, Kevin Moon Jr., Lexie Moriarty, and Olivia Moon. Dan was the loving brother of Pamela Baron, her husband Donald. Father in law of Trisha Moon and Nick Moriarty; Son in law of June Reynolds.
