DUNNE, DARLENE MAE (LAWRENCE), 74, of Main Street, Hope Valley, passed away at the Westerly Hospital on Monday, November 25, 2024. Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Eugenie M. (Duguay) Lawrence.
Darlene graduated from Coventry High School in 1968. She went on to employment with the Laborers’ Union Local 271 for many years before retiring. She was proud of her work constructing the parking garages at the Providence Place Mall, her extensive training when working with hazardous materials, and her responsibility as a flagger in roadway construction.
Darlene was a skilled equestrian. A most memorable experience was her participation in the 1976 Bicentennial horse drawn wagon train that traveled from Rhode Island to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Darlene and her twin sister Dawn, belonged to the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
She is survived by her twin sister Dawn M. Tuchon of Hope Valley, and several nieces and nephews including Leah Laporte. Darlene was the sister of the late Irene Heavey and Dennis M. Carrier.
