DARRYL TRIGGS Obituary

TRIGGS, DARRYL C., 77, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He was the loving husband of Louise (Manning) Triggs. 

 

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Robert and Ruth (Clark) Wolf. 

 

Darryl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While he was stationed at Naval Base Guam, Darryl was a Nuclear Weapons Specialist. When he returned stateside, he worked for many years at Yale New Haven Hospital as the Critical Care Medicine Manager, where he was commended for his many accolades and achievements.  He then went into Medical Sales, working for The Medex Company, Ohio, and WB Saunders Publishing, Philadelphia, PA.  

 

Darryl was a lifelong member of Estuary Lodge No. 43, formerly Siloam Lodge No. 32, Old Saybrook, CT, and St. John’s Lodge No. 1 Providence. Known as “Dad Triggs”, he was the proud Dad Advisor of Pawtuxet Valley Assembly No. 8 International Order of Rainbow for Girls. He was also Troop Leader of his daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. 

 

Darryl had a great love for his children, grandchildren, dachshunds, and frogs. He also was very strong in his faith and his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. In his free time, Darryl was an avid SCUBA diver, loved to both wind surf and ocean surf, kayak, and loved flying with his father in their Cessna single engine airplane. He volunteered his time at Circle A Ranch in Rockford, Michigan, where he helped open and close the campground for many seasons.      

 

He was the loving father of Robin Triggs Mott, her husband William A., of Coventry, Kristina Costigan, of Coventry, and Rob Hubert Frazier of Florida. Papa of Anita-Marie R. Mott, Paige E. Costigan, Michael W.  Mott, and Abigail “Archer” Costigan.  He was the brother of Frank Triggs of California, Deborah Giroux of Coventry, Doreen Fish of Coventry, Leisa Jorgensen of Coventry, and the late Sheila Triggs. Darryl is also survived by his former wife Donna B. Triggs of Warwick.   

 

Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home AT MAPLE ROOT, 2000 NOOSENECK HILL ROAD (ROUTE 3), COVENTRY. Masonic Funeral Service to commence at 7:00 PM. 

 

Darryl’s Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024  at 10:30 AM in the Christian Hill Community Church, 56 Tiogue Ave., Coventry. Burial with Military Funeral Honors will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
