DAVID BAXTER, JR.

David Baxter, Jr., 45, of Providence, a loving father, son and brother, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday,  August 6, 2024.  

Born in Warwick, RI on January 2, 1979, David was the son of David Baxter, Sr. of Charlestown, NH and Katherine A. (Van Leeuwen) Baxter of Scotland, UK.

David was raised in Exeter and attended Exeter-West Greenwich High School.  He was employed as a private contractor and entrepreneur for years.  David enjoyed sports, music, food, holidays with his family, and especially treasured time with his beloved son, Evan.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his son: Evan R. Baxter; three sisters:  Christina M. Bucker, Julianne Pesaturo (John) and Joyce L. Baxter; nieces and nephew:  Kimberly A. Roosa (Caleb), with whom he shared a uniquely close bond, Alexis E. Viti, Sarah A. Bucker, Kaitlin M. Fill (Nathan), Matthew Jones, and Haylie Jones. He is also remembered by his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His son, Evan, was the light of his life, and their joyful and unbreakable bond infused everything he did. From supporting Evan in his training and game preparations to sharing countless laughs, David’s deep devotion to Evan was evident. Whether cheering for him in football or basketball or enjoying lighthearted moments together, David’s presence made every moment memorable. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him and was known for his sense of humor. A true handyman, he enjoyed tackling home improvement projects and sharing his skills with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 5 PM - 7 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 7 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street, Route #117, Coventry, RI 02816.
