DAVID ROLLAND MARTELL

David R. Martell, 77, a resident of West Warwick the past twenty-five years, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury.  Born in Providence on December 22, 1945, he was the beloved son of the late Rolland G. and Ruth M. (Kennedy) Martell.

David was raised in Cranston and was a graduate of Cranston East High School East, Class of 1964.  He later earned a degree in Business Administration from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY.  David honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

David was a self-employed Auto Body Specialist throughout his life.  He was a witty and highly intelligent man who kept up to date on current events, loved traveling all over the United States attending expos and conferences on Health and Innovative Natural Healing, always seeking to gain more knowledge in many different areas and also had a great knowledge of World and American history.  In his youth he designed and built a 14 foot boat in the garage of his family home.

David was a Believer and a member of the Warwick Seventh-day Adventist Church.

David is survived by his loving sister:  Janice O’Donnell and her husband, Raymond of North Scituate.  He was the beloved uncle of Janice’s son, the late Richard M. Lisa and first cousin of Nancy (Kennedy) Till and Barry Kennedy and cousin of James Morrison.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 9 AM - 11 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Route 117), Coventry followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the Funeral Home.  Burial with full Military Honors will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.
