SMITH, DAVID G. 72, of the Greene section of Coventry, passed away at Roger Williams Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 21, 2024. He was the husband of Margaret M. (Tanguay) Smith. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Natalie (Yanyar) Smith.
David G. Smith is survived by the absolute love of his life, his wife of 48 years, Margaret (Tanguay);his son, David J. Smith; his daughter, Melinda Arakelian; his son-in-law, Vinny Arakelian; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Ferrara; and his beloved grandson, Christian David Smith, and Madison, McKenzie & Cory. He is also remembered by his brothers, Michael, Peter, and Jeff Smith, along with his extensive family of brothers- and sisters-in-law.
David dedicated his career to Precious Metals as the co-owner of the family business Smith Precious Metals and later the owner Smith Tradition, but his true passion was photography but it was collectables that truly enjoyed and defined him. David possessed a youthful spirit and brought immense joy and laughter to his family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever. His legacy as "the crazy-fun uncle" will live on in the hearts of his children, nieces, and nephews. His memory will forever inspire and uplift the spirits of everyone who knew him.
Visiting hours are Friday morning, November 29, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:15 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) in Coventry, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Saint Joseph Church in Natick.
