DENIS PAUL BOUSQUET

BOUSQUET, DENIS P., 75, a retired West Warwick Police Detective Sergeant, passed away on Thursday evening, September 5, 2024 at the South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Mary L. (Rock) Bousquet. The high school sweethearts have been married for 55 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Eugene J. and Marie I. (Leveillee) Bousquet.

Denis graduated from West Warwick High School in 1968. He then enlisted in the United States Navy serving his Country as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge, Denis had a dedicated 24 year career in law enforcement in the West Warwick Police Department before retiring in 1995. He was a WWPD SWAT team member and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. While on the WWPD, Denis earned an Associate’s Degree in the Science of Law Enforcement from Salve Regina University in 1978. Denis furthered his career by working for 13 years with the RI Airport Corporation Police Department, retiring in 2011. Denis was a life member of the Narragansett Gun Club.

In his retirement, Denis enjoyed fishing, but mostly, he loved spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandson Tyler J. Bousquet.

He was the father of Paul E. Bousquet and his wife Lori of West Warwick. He was the brother of Suzanne Sousa of Coventry, Ninette Laurin of Canada, Connie Haverstein of South Carolina, and the late Eugene Bousquet. Denis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are Friday morning, September 13, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:45 am, with a Memorial Service at 11:45 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.,(Rte.3) Coventry. Interment with military honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
