DRISCOLL, DENISE L., 78, a lifelong resident of Rhode Island, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family at her home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel W. Driscoll Jr. who predeceased Denise in 2003.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Pearl (Vadnais) Vacher. With her family’s heritage, Denise spoke Canadian French until her arrival at primary school, where she insisted the Catholic nuns taught her English and forced her to abandon her left hand for writing.
After attending Northeastern University in Boston, MA, Denise began her career as an X-Ray Technician, spending many years at X-Ray Associates and then Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence, retiring as the Director of Radiology. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and always looking for a reason to entertain friends and family. Though she claimed to hate talking on the phone, a quick call from one of her grandchildren would turn into a 45 minute chat about anything and everything. During her retirement years, she enjoyed hiding from the New England Winter weather, spending time in Florida with loved ones, new and old friends.
Denise is survived by her loving sons and daughter-in-laws, Daniel W. III and Lynne Driscoll, Eric and Jennifer Driscoll, and Matthew and Beth Driscoll;
Loving grandmother of Samantha, Jesse, Brian, Joshua, Maeve, Kayla, Aidan, Coryn, Madelynne, and Quinn; great grandmother of Athena, Lenny, and Bruce. She was the oldest sister of Sue, Diane, Christine, Thomas, and the late David Vacher.
Family and friends are invited to Denise’s Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Saints John and Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial and committal prayers to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Coventry.
