DENNIS DAVID GAUVIN

GAUVIN, DENNIS D., 79, of West Warwick, passed away at the West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Monday evening, July 7, 2025. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Bruno S. and Gertrude C. (Roch) Gauvin.

Dennis graduated from Scituate High School, class of 1963. The Gauvin family, well known and reputable in the Pawtuxet Valley; Dennis along with his father and brothers, worked in excavating and in home construction. He owned and operated Diamond Construction for over 50 years before retiring. Dennis was always known for his hard work and dedication to his family. Dennis enjoyed traveling many times to St. Martin in the Caribbean. He was light hearted and humorous. Dennis was always the life of the party when attending many of his large family gatherings. He will be fondly remembered for his favorite quote “We are not here for a long time…We are here for a good time!”  

He was the loving father of Michaela J. Lombardi and her husband Jason of West Warwick, Christopher P. Gauvin of Warwick, and Sean C. Gauvin of West Warwick; and the adoring grandfather of Elliot S. Gauvin, Finley J. Gauvin and Jason A. Lombardi Jr. Dennis was the brother of  Alfred Gauvin (Lynn) Francine Proulx, Maurice Gauvin (Jeannine), Luke Gauvin, Marc Gauvin (Sherry), Celeste Bucci (Thomas), Bruno Gauvin Jr., Lise Gauvin, Renee Johnson (Raymond), Guy Gauvin (Kathleen), and the late John P. Gauvin. Dennis is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 11 am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry. Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted,  memorial donations to the West Warwick Animal Shelter, 106 Hay St., West Warwick, RI 02893 would be appreciated.
