DEREK J. MORTON

MORTON, DEREK J., 44, of Westerly, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021. Born in Warwick, he was the son of Maureen P. St. Jean and the late Harold T. Morton Jr. He was the stepson of Rick St. Jean and the late Rita Morton. 

Derek worked as a laborer for various local companies, and was also a chef at several local restaurants. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, cooking, listening to music, and was an avid fan of the Boston Redsox and the Boston Bruins. Derek will be remembered as being a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend.  He always loved to have fun, loved to smile and laugh!  His family and friends meant the world to him. 

He is survived by his beloved sisters and brother in-laws, Heather & Martin Aguilar , Allison & Tyler Albert.  He is also survived by his 3 nephews ,2 nieces , several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Derek was the grandson of the late Harold Sr. and Edna Morton, and Helen Regan.

Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 6, from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (RTE 3), Coventry. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM. Burial will be private. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
