DIEGA (FAZZIO) CAPUANO

CAPUANO, DIEGA “DEE” “Mama Cap”(FAZZIO), 100,  of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Halcyon West Bay Assisted Living Center, Warwick. She was the beloved and loving wife of the late Frank “Chick” Capuano for 59 years before his passing in 2018. 

Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Calogero and Philomena Fazzio. 

Diega worked for many years at the US Rubber Company in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. After her marriage she became a homemaker or a “Domestic Engineer” as she jokingly referred to it.  A voracious reader and news watcher she will be remembered for her infectious smile, her fiery demeanor, quick wit, and great Sicilian cooking. She prayed the rosary daily. She made many people laugh and will be sorely missed. 

She leaves two sons and their wives, Michael and Darlene of Warwick; Richard and Sonya Abdow Capuano of Bristol; along with their two children, Alyssa St. Louis and her husband JR of North Providence and Brendan Capuano of Boston Massachusetts. She is survived by two brothers, Samuel Fazzio of Seminole, FL and Richard Fazzio of Woonsocket. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jennie Wright, Frank Fazzio, Angie Kane, Charles Fazzio, and Mary Grondines. Diega is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to Diega’s Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane Warwick RI. Burial will be private at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery where she will join her husband Staff Sergeant Frank Capuano Jr.  

The family extends its thankfulness to Halcyon at West Bay where she lived and loved her friends and staff. Also a thank you to Harmony Hospice.
