DOLORES M. (ALESSANDRO) ETCHELLS

ETCHELLS (ALESSANDRO) DOLORES M., 90, of Federal Street, Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Kent Regency Center, Warwick.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Orazio and Grace (Sindone) Alessandro.

Growing up on the Federal Hill section of Providence, Dolores was a graduate of Central High School. She owned and operated her Beauty Salon, "Coiffures by Dolores" on Narragansett Parkway in Warwick for many years. Always a hard worker, Dolores was employed by the Department of Taxation, Department of Juvenile Corrections, and Department of Adult Corrections all while hairdressing. She was also an accomplished seamstress and had a natural talent for tailoring and creating beautiful gowns and dresses.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing with her dance partner and the love of her life, Albert. Dolores and Albert also loved travelling to other countries, sightseeing and attending events. Always a woman of strong faith, Dolores was a proud member of her church choir in Providence. She also enjoyed cooking for her loved ones and had an impeccable sense of humor. She will truly be missed by many.

She was the loving mother of Deborah Etchells of Warwick and Shelley MacDonald, her husband Robert, of Coventry. Adoring grandmother of Russell Calligano, his wife Jenna, of Cranston; great grandmother of Domenic and Mia. Loving sister of Rita Principe and the late Loretta A. Sullivan. Dolores is also survived by the love of her life, Albert G. Vennari.

She was the former wife of the late Russell Etchells.

Family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at The Church of the Holy Ghost, 474 Atwells Ave., Providence. Inurnment and Committal Prayers to follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
