DONALD G. HEBERT

HEBERT, DONALD G., 88, of Woodside Avenue, West Warwick, passed away at the Riverview Healthcare Community on Friday, May 23, 2025. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Arlene L. (Johnson) Hebert in 2020. A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was a son of the late Gratien E. and Celine J. (Schadeck) Hebert.

After high school, Donald enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his Country from September 1955 until an Honorable Discharge in January 1957. Donald was known for his hard work ethic. He dedicated over 30 years of employment at Hoechst-Celanese in Coventry. Donald began as a skilled pipefitter, before retiring as a batchmaker. He later worked at the former West Valley Inn, and delivered for Security Cleansers. In his early years, Donald worked at the DeCiantis Brothers Dairy Farm.

Donald enjoyed gardening, tending to his lawn and maintaining his home, but mostly spending time with his family.

He was the father of Lynda L. Garvin and her husband Donald E. Garvin Jr. of Coventry and Donna J. Carr and her husband Donald M. Carr of West Greenwich. Donald is also survived by six grandchildren: Adam, Danielle, Austin, Mackenzie, Mason and Maggie. He was predeceased by his grandson Derek Torigian. Donald was the brother of the late Georgette Hebert-Lane and Raymond Doucette. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Friday morning, May 30, 2025 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am in the Iannotti Funeral at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., Coventry (I95,exit 18, Rte.3). Interment with military honors at Oakland Cemetery in Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org)  would be appreciated. iannottifh.com
