DONALD NOEL Obituary

 

NOEL, DONALD F., 91, of Ramblewood Estates, Coventry, passed away at the Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence on Thursday, January 7, 2021. He was the husband of the late Aline L. (Marcure) Noel and the late Rachel T. (Melanson) Noel. Born in Portland, Maine, he was a son of the late Arthur J. and Mary A. (Price) Noel.

 

Donald served in the US Navy during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam Wars. Of noteworthy interest, Donald was part of the Navy detail on the USS Intrepid in March 1965 that retrieved the Gemini Capsule upon splashdown in the Atlantic. He was employed at Leviton Manufacturing for over 30 years before retiring as a supervisor. After retiring, Donald and his wife enjoyed travelling.

 

He was the father of Jane L. Long and her husband Robert of Coventry. Donald was the stepfather of John A. Spirito and his wife Denise of Somerset, MA, James A. Spirito of Cranston, and Sheryl A. Spirito of Coventry. Donald was the grandfather of Michael Marzilli of Plainfield, CT, Lonnie Marzilli of Cranston, Elisha Coolen and Dominic Bianco of Coventry. He was the brother of Virginia Wender of Wading River, NY, and the late Arthur Noel, Frederick Noel, Helen Kane, Dorothy Powell, Esther Brown and Mary Harkins.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry. Interment with military honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter will be private. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry.  Due to the Pandemic, visiting hours are omitted, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org)  would be appreciated. iannottifh.com
