ALBANESE, DONNA J., 70, of Coventry, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was the beloved wife of nearly 23 years to Gregory B. Albanese.
Born in Providence, Donna was a daughter of the late Anthony S. Gomes and Jeanne E. (Perron) Stevens, her late husband Milton Stevens.
As a young woman, Donna was the Manager at the former Ground Round Restaurants. She also graduated from Arthur Angelo’s School of Hair Design. She then went on to New England Institute of Technology, where she earned her degree as a Medical Assistant. For the following 30 years, Donna worked at Women and Infants Hospital, Providence where she worked in Vital Statistics, Diagnostics, and Medical Imaging. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, celebrating holidays and family milestones. She loved cooking as well as spending time with loved ones. Above all, Donna will be remembered for her caring and loving kindness, her selfless generosity, her ability to make her home a place of comfort, and her appreciation of family values. She was privileged to have raised two children, who were Donna’s everything. As a spouse and partner for over 31 years, she always wanted the best for her husband, Greg.
Besides her loving husband, Greg, Donna is survived by her son, Kendall M. Albanese. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Meghan J. Donovan. She was the loving sister of Dennis Gomes and his wife Donna of Burrillville, Diane DeCristo and her husband Alan of Warwick, Dean Gomes of Providence, and Derek Stevens of Narragansett, and the late Deborah Casey and her late husband Clarence. Donna is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held Monday, February 16, 2026 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry.
Donna’s Funeral will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 9:45 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry. Burial and Committal Prayers to follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
