DORIS C. (BOWDEN) OLSON

OLSON, DORIS C. (BOWDEN), 89, of Coventry, RI passed away at the South County Hospital, with her loving family by her side, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, George John Olson in 2003. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (VonDembowski) Bowden.

Doris Graduated from Hope High School in Providence, class of 1954. She later earned an Associate’s Degree from the Community College of Rhode Island in 1988. Doris was employed for over 25 years with the R.I. Hospital Trust National Bank. Doris began as a Customer Service Representative in 1966, before retiring as an Operations Coordinator in 1991.
Doris enjoyed spending time with her friends and her family, had a love of nature, music, dancing, and a passion  for animals and supported various animal rescue foundations.  At all times she was ready and willing to help out and help others whenever possible, always with a very caring and thoughtful heart. 

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Stephanie E. Gaulin and her husband Michael of Greenville, RI. She was the sister of Joseph Bowden, Jr. of Pawtucket, RI, Charles Bowden of Canoga Park, California, and the late Alice Irene Bowden Tessaglia. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a Committal Service at the Historic Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, RI, on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 am. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root in Coventry. iannottifh.com
