DOUGLAS ALDRICH Obituary

Douglas A. Aldrich, 83, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence.  He was the beloved husband of the late Irma H. (Graf) Aldrich who passed on November 5, 2019.  They were married fifty-four years at the time of her passing.  

 

Born in Fall River on May 29, 1940, he was the loving son of the late Harry and Evangeline (Young) Aldrich.

 

Douglas was employed as a Police Officer for the Town of Coventry.  He served in the United States Navy and was very active in “Ham Radio.”  Douglas was also a member of the Masons and a member of the Masons Clown Unit known as “Stumbles the Clown” and entertained children for many years.  

 

Douglas is survived by his loving daughter:  Kari Cookson and her husband, Stephen of Chepachet; two sisters:  Donna Collins and Darlene Smyth; and two cherished grandchildren:  Paige Spencer and Erinn Cookson. He was also predeased by his son, Craig Allen Aldrich.
