DOUGLAS C. "DOUG" GERING

GERING, DOUGLAS C. “DOUG” , 57, of Saunderstown, passed away unexpectedly at Kent Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 25, 2025. He was the husband of Ann M. Lovewell. The couple were married on June 21, 2025. Born in Warwick, he was a son of Robert P. Gering of Rehoboth, MA and the late Florence M. (Hitte) Gering.

After West Warwick High School, Doug went on to employment in the Public Works Department, Sanitation Division for the Town of West Warwick for over fifteen years. He later worked as a skilled tile installer. More recently, Doug was employed for the Liberty Fence Company. Doug enjoyed his family and friends. He was very social. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing.

Douglas was the father of Alyssa Gering of RI , Kayla Gering of Texas and loving grandfather of Ava. He was the stepfather of Wesley D. Lovewell (Melinda) of Ashaway, Robert E. Lovewell and William S. Lovewell, both of Saunderstown. He was the brother of Darlene Chatell (Ronald) of Coventry and David Gering of Rehoboth, MA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm with a Memorial Service at 2:30 pm in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (95/exit 18/Rte.3) Coventry. iannottifh.com
