EDNA STELLA (JENNINGS) KELLY

KELLY, EDNA S. (JENNINGS) 88, of Greenwood Avenue, Coventry, passed away at home unexpectedly, on Friday, August 12, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband John H. Kelly Jr. in 2002. A lifelong resident of Coventry, Edna was a daughter of the late Henry and Frances (Jawczak) Jennings.

Edna graduated from Coventry High School in 1952. She recently attended her 70th class reunion. Edna was employed as a sales clerk in the children’s clothing department at the former Jordan Marsh in Warwick from 1972 until retiring in 2002. For many years, Edna volunteered at the RI Community Food Bank. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Edna enjoyed her monthly dinner dates with her longtime friends, a tradition Edna attended for many years.

Edna was the mother of Ann M. Schimansky and her husband Stephen of Richmond, and Cohan G. Kelly and his wife Patricia of Hopkinton. She was the grandmother of Sarah A. Orrall and her husband Caleb and Karen M. Moore and her husband Shane. She was the great-grandmother of Everett. Edna was the sister of Marion Charpentier of Framingham, MA and the late Janet Gregoire.

Visiting hours are Monday morning, August 22, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:15 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd. (Rte.3) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington St., Coventry. Interment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
