EILENE P. (HURRY) ROY

ROY (HURRY), EILENE P. ,95, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2023 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Home, Cranston. 

In 2021, Eilene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Roland J. N. Roy. 

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Mabel M. (Plante) Hurry. 

Along with her husband, Eilene sang in the Christ the King Church Choir. Whether serving on the Parish Council, volunteering for various church activities, Eilene was a dedicated lifelong parishioner, Communicant, and servant to her beloved parish.  She was a past member of the Pawtuxet Valley Community Chorus and the Coventry Community Chorus. 

Before meeting her husband, Eilene was employed at Wilner’s Dress Shop in Providence. Besides being an avid bowler, Eilene was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She enjoyed decorating her home and many trips to the beach with her kids. 

She was the loving mother of Donald E. Roy (Gloria) of Palm Beach, Florida, Cheryl A. Ciccone (Orlando), Gary R. Roy, all of Cranston, and the late Denis R. Roy. Grandmother of Tracy Calise, Derrick, Darcy, and Nathan Roy. Eilene is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. 

Eilene’s Funeral will be Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 8:45 AM in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home 415 Washington Street (ROUTE 117), Coventry. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 124 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours Friday, 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
