Eleanor Beaudoin (Chaput), 90, Formerly of Coventry, RI, passed away peacefully in the care of the compassionate staff at William Childs Hospice House in Melbourne, Fl., on April 12, 2025, while surrounded by her loving children and extended family. She was the loving wife of 36 years to the late Robert Beaudoin Sr.
Born in West Warwick, RI, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Gravier) Chaput.
Eleanor was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother and she cherished everyone she called a friend. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting holiday and birthday dinners. Eleanor also loved to be surrounded by her extended family and she would host summer cookouts for her Aunts and Uncles. She was a loving daughter and enjoyed traveling with her husband and her parents and vacationing to Florida for many winters. Sadly she lost her husband to cancer shortly after he retired and both of her parents passed soon after.
Eleanor was employed at the Kent Regency Nursing Home before retiring in 1992. It was then she moved to Melbourne, Florida to be near her long time friend, Beverly, and the pair would spend many evenings together enjoying countless Bingo games, day trips to the casino, and day cruises out of Cape Canaveral.
Eleanor will be greatly missed by all, but solace is taken in the fact that her spirit will remain in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.
She is survived by her children Debra Chapo, and her late husband Robert Chapo, of Palm Bay, Fl., Robert Beaudoin Jr., and his partner Gail Keith, of Newport Richie, Fl., Peter Beaudoin, and his spouse Peter Parente, of Coventry, RI, and the late Donald Beaudoin and Keith Beaudoin. Loving grandmother of 6; Nick, Amanda, Zack, Daniel, the late Tim Kaufman, Kerri Lynn. 12 Great GrandChildren; Sophie, Audrey, Madalyn, Quinton, Athena, Makyla, Demitra the late Ashton Beaudoin, Penelope, Hannah, Grace and Charlotte.
Family and friends are invited to Eleanor’s burial with Committal Prayers on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822. Those in attendance are asked to gather by the cemetery’s main entrance at 9:45 AM. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
