ERNEST E. BUGNET

BUGNET, ERNEST E., 92, of West Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Marie-Claude (Boulanger) Bugnet. 

Born in France, Ernest was a son of the late Louis Francois and Marie Louise (Perreur) Bugnet. 

Ernest served in the French Naval Air Force where he was a mechanic on aircraft carriers, repairing airplane engines. He then spent his career as a mechanical engineer for Otsby & Barton, before retiring in 1989. Ernie enjoyed time on his and Marie-Claude’s tree farm foresting and was awarded “Tree Farmer of the Year'' in 1972. As an avid waterfowl hunter, He was a lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited and also the Rhode Island Forest Conservators Organization (RIFCO). 

Ernest was the father of the late Danielle Louise Bugnet. He is survived by a brother, Henri Bugnet of Florida. 

Due to pandemic restrictions, Ernest’s funeral services are private. Arrangements by Iannotti Funeral Home.
