WILSON, EUNICE A. (COTTER), 89, of Coventry, a retired Nurse (RN), passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Brentwood Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, William J. “Bill” Wilson in 2016. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Margaret L. (Powers) Cotter.
Eunice was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a strong Catholic faith and was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church as well as a faithful volunteer at McAuley House Ministries, a food pantry in Providence.
Eunice graduated from the former St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1956. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College in 1976. After graduating from St. Joseph's, Eunice worked for many years as an RN at St. Joseph's Hospital and the Arthritis Foundation of RI before being employed as an Occupational Nurse with the former Fleet Bank in Providence for over 16 years, retiring in 1991.
After retiring, she and her late husband Bill enjoyed international travel and golfing together. In addition to traveling with Bill for many years, Eunice very much enjoyed her time playing golf at Jamestown Golf Club with her "Golf Girls". She was also an avid Red Sox, Patriots, and PC Basketball fan.
Eunice was the mother of William J. Wilson Jr. (Sandra) of Richboro, PA., Paul E. Wilson (Kathleen) of Doylestown, PA, and Michael C. Wilson (Kathleen) of Raleigh, NC. She was the sister of Donald G. Cotter of Warwick, and the late Joseph, Robert, and Edward Cotter. She is the loving Nana of six grandchildren, and aunt to a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Brentwood Nursing Home for taking such special care of Eunice during her stay with them. We will always be grateful.
