EVELYN O'ROURKE

O’ROURKE, EVELYN (McGregor), 88, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. She was the loving wife of 50 years to Richard H. O’Rourke. 

Born in Providence, Evelyn was the oldest of nine children to the late Hugh and Constance (Barber) McGregor. 

As a young woman, Evelyn began working alongside her mother as a lace weaver. As a natural born caregiver, Evelyn later became a Certified Nurses Assistant and worked at Kent Regency Nursing Home until her retirement. In her free time, Evelyn enjoyed writing and was a gifted poet.  

Evelyn was the loving mother of Julie Marsh (Maine), Shawn O’Rourke, and the late Lisa Ricker. Grandmother of Roy Sr., Alex, Taylor, Catherine, Emily, Scott and Hope; Great grandmother of Roy Jr., Ashton, Riley, Willow, Winter, and Oliver. Evelyn is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 8:45 AM - 10:30 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Route 117), Coventry. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial to follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
