EVELYN IRENE POY

POY, EVELYN I., 90, formerly of Coventry, passed away with her loving family by her side, at the West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband James Poy Jr. in 1984. 

Evelyn was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. As a young widow, Evelyn worked hard to provide for her family. She was employed as an order processor for over 20 years at the former Scott Laboratories before retiring. Evelyn had a zest for life and she loved to dance. She was loved by everyone and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Evelyn was the mother of Deborah A. Atella (Michael Gabriel) of Westerly, Steven J. Poy (Michele), and James R. Poy (Rachel Herz), all of Warwick. She was the grandmother of Stephanie Morley, Amy Smith, Holly Poy and James R. Poy Jr. Evelyn is also survived by her great-grandchildren Jillian Morley, Callie Smith, Maggie Smith, and Thomas Smith-McCauley. Eveln was the sister of the late Marion LaRose.

At the family’s request, Funeral Services and interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Coventry will be private. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home in Coventry. iannottifh.com
