EVERETT E. RICE

RICE, EVERETT E., 87, of West Greenwich, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 9, 2023. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Dorothy F. (Terra) Rice. 

Everett proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1955. When he returned to civilian life he continued his service to his country and neighbors, ensuring the purity and cleanliness of the public water supply working as a Laborer at Kent County Water Authority, where he retired after 31 years. In Everett’s spare time, he enjoyed shellfishing, crabbing, and playing a round of golf with his closest friends. 

Everett was the loving father of Christine Fortin (Clifford) of Johnston, RI and the late Richard P. Rice. Grandfather of Dylan, Danielle, Melanie, Jo-Anna and Kyle. Son of the late Ernest E. and Evelyn (Denham) Rice; Brother of Edwin Rice of Lakeland, FL, Deborah Elliott (Richard) of Cranston, and the late Norma Clauson, Robert Rice and Ernest Rice. 

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry, RI, 02816. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment with Military Funeral Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Everett’s memory to Beacon Hospice, Meadows Professional Office Park, 1130 Ten Rod Road, Suite A203-A206, North Kingstown, RI, 02852, would be appreciated.
