FLORENCE LOUISE (MATTESON) LAWRENCE

LAWRENCE, FLORENCE L. (MATTESON) 85, of Laurel Ave., passed at Kent Hospital on Sunday, March 28, 2021. She was the beloved wife of James T. Lawrence for 65 years. A lifelong resident of Coventry, she was a daughter of the late John L. and Amy V. (Bonner) Matteson.

Florence graduated from Coventry High School in 1954. She was employed as a sales clerk at the former Lord’s Jewelers in Arctic for many years. Later, Florence was a clerk at the former Llyod Long and Cerrone Oldsmobile Dealerships. Florence enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and travelling.

She was the mother of Cynthia L. McCormick (Raymond), Robin P. Cone and Laurie A. Perry (William) all of Coventry; grandmother of Allison, Corey, Jordan, Brandon, Casey, Rosalie, and Amanda; and the great-grandmother of Colby. Florence was the sister of the late John Matteson and Shirley Cotnoir.

Visiting hours will be Friday morning, April 2, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am with a Service at 11 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry.  Interment at the Maple Root Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
