FREDERICK "FRED" W. GRANT

FREDERICK “FRED” W. GRANT, 85, of Warwick, passed away peacefully while surrounded by loving family at the Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Fred was the beloved husband of over 60 years to Nancy Ann (Dessaint) Grant. 

Born in Providence, Fred was a son of the late Robert W. and Bertha (Frazier) Grant. 

Fred worked for many years for the Warwick School Department. He was a determined hard worker and a skilled billiards player. Fred and his wife, Nancy Ann, even constructed a billiards room in their families home, digging out the basement by hand. He enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis, dancing, and antique automobiles. Above all, Fred loved spending time with his family on the water. He enjoyed countless seasons boating with his wife, Nancy Ann, making many memories all along the way. Above all, Fred was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose devotion to his family knew no bounds. As the patriarch of his family, Fred will truly be missed.  

Fred is survived by his loving children, Janet Sutton, her husband Brian, of Coventry, and Gary Grant, his wife Karen, of Coventry. Loving grandfather of Michael A. Messier Jr., his wife Beth, of Warwick, Courtney Simpanen, her husband Evan, of Coventry, Jacob Grant of Coventry; great grandfather of Hailey and Michael III.  Fred was the brother of William “Billy” Grant, Phyllis D’Ambra, Barbara Olmstead, Gertrude Waterman, and the late Robert “Bobby” Grant, Donald “Donnie” Grant, and James “Jimmy” Grant.

Inurnment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich is respectfully private.
