GARY BROADHURST

BROADHURST, GARY, formerly of West Warwick, RI, passed away in his home in Lakeland, FL on Friday, August 13, 2021. He was 57 years old.  

Gary was a member of ROTC during his high school years and graduated from Lakeland Senior High School. He then joined the United States Army and served as an Army Ranger. After his military duties, Gary lived in Amarillo, TX as a prison guard Moving back to Florida 14 years ago, Gary has since worked at White Cap Construction Supply as a supply truck driver.

Gary will always be remembered for his robust laughter and his love for history. Gary volunteered at the Smithsonian in Providence, RI, so he could enjoy his love for history, and often shared memories of his experiences traveling across the US and Europe. Gary was a life-long fan of the New England Patriots and collecting sports cards. 

He is survived by his mother, Cecelia Peltier, as well as his brothers, Stephen and Christopher Broadhurst, sisters, Cathy Butler and Tracy Ahearn, and many loved ones, family members, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 10 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church,  62 Pleasant St., West Warwick. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
