GEORGE CARNER Obituary

CARNER, GEORGE R. 71, of West Warwick, a retired welder and supervisor at General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, passed away at the Kent Regency Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Joann M. (Truex) Carner for 36 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George E. and Mary (McGwin) Carner.

George was raised in the Buttonwoods section of Warwick, and a graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School. After graduating from high school, George enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.  George was employed as a welder and then supervisor at General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown. He later worked for Senesco Marine. George was a motorcycle enthusiast, He liked to camp, enjoy certain Television shows, including a favorite “Sons of Anarchy” as well as others. However, his family and friends meant most to him.

He was the father of Dylan Carner of West Warwick and the brother of David Carner of California, and the late Marie Lindsey and Carol Carner.

Visiting hours will be on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St.,(Rte.117) Coventry, followed by Committal Prayers and Military Honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter at 11:30 am. iannottifh.com
