DUCHESNEAU, GLADYS MAE (SPENCER), 84, of Roberts Street, West Warwick and formerly of Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital on Friday, December 20, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband George P. Duchesneau in 2016. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Frank K. and Elizabeth A. (Burndt) Spencer.
After high school, Gladys married and raised her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gladys had an artistic flair. She was employed as a floral designer before retiring. While residing at the West Warwick Manor, Gladys volunteered in several capacities including her favorite; overseeing Bingo nights. Gladys also enjoyed arts & crafts, solving crossword puzzles and challenging herself to complete word search games. She also liked to care for her family’s two French bulldogs.
She was the mother of Lorraine M. Lavoie and her husband Dennis, Donald P. Duchesneau and his late wife Debra, Paul A. Duchesneau and his wife Tina all of West Warwick, Robert J. Duchesneau and his wife Christine of Warwick, and Heidi A. Robinson and her fiance Pete of Coventry. Gladys is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Esther Tidswell. Gladys was the sister-in-law of Irene Mariorenzi. Gladys also leaves a niece and two nephews.
