DICARLO, GLORIA M. (VERRIER) 89, a resident of West Warwick for most of her life, passed away peacefully at Kent Hospital on Sunday, June 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the loving wife of the late Dominico “Butler” DiCarlo for 65 years.
Born in New Haven, CT., on September 18, 1936, Gloria was the daughter of the late Donat E. and Julia (Calande) Verrier. She was the devoted mother of Deborah M. Adams and her husband John of North Kingstown, Vincent P. “Vinny” DiCarlo and his significant other Nancy Leathers of Scituate, and Melissa G. DiCarlo of West Warwick. Gloria was the loving grandmother of Ryan, Jason, Derek, Aaron and Dominic; and the proud great-grandmother of Ashton and Ellis. Gloria was the sister of the late Armand Verrier and Elaine Coda.
Gloria was employed at the former Jordan Marsh in Warwick for many years before retiring. Gloria loved shoes, it was fitting that she was a sales clerk in the ladies shoe department. Gloria was also a skilled seamstress. She made her two daughters’ first communion dresses, prom dresses, and many halloween costumes for her three children. Gloria enjoyed knitting as well as gardening. Gloria had a great fashion sense and was a sharp dresser.
Gloria had a culinary flair for making great lasagna, turkey stuffing, homemade pizza dough, and especially her & Dominic’s well loved Christmas Egg nog.
Gloria and Dominic enjoyed many winters at their home in Aruba.
