GORDON JAMES HORNE

HORNE, GORDON J., 73, of Plain Meeting House, West Greenwich, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 15, 2024. He was the husband of Christine M. (Frappier) for 51 years. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late James A. and Millicent J. (Allen) Horne. 

After high school, Gordon was employed as a truck driver for several local companies including Matteson Fuel Oil Inc. and the former Horace L. Greene Lumber Company Inc. Most recently, Gordon worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Transportation with the State of Rhode Island for 17 years, retiring in 2015.  In his spare time, Gordon enjoyed working on his classic cars.

Gordon was the father of Lisa Marie Titus and her husband James of West Greenwich, Lynda L. L'Heureux of Coventry, Anthony J. Horne and his wife Beth, of West Greenwich and Gordon G. Horne and his wife Bethany, of Hope, RI. Gordon is also survived by his twin sister Susan Lorenson of Alva, Florida, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be on Friday evening, March 22, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30 pm in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.
