HAROLD "BUD" BRALEY JR. Obituary

HAROLD W. “Bud” BRALEY Jr., 86., of Cranston, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence on Thursday, April 2, 2026. He was the devoted husband of 32 years to the late Frances (Miller) Braley.

Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Harold W. Braley Sr. and Gladys M. (Peters) Sylvia.

Harold, or “BUD” as he was also called, loved going to car shows with his son, Billy, and won many  different awards— enough to fill a room in his home —for his Duster.  He also was an avid bowler, bowling until the end of October, 2025 when his health began to decline.  For over 30 years, Bud was a member of the “Cocktail league" with his team “The Mudslides”.  He took pride in being there every Thursday night at 5:00 to greet everyone as they arrived.  Harold was also a lifetime member of the BPOE ELKS, TriCity Lodge #14, Warwick, which was a tradition started by his grandfather and carried on by his father, himself, and his son Billy.

He also took great pride in going to “work”, as he called it, at a garage owned by his friend Bill. He would go every Monday through Friday with the morning coffees  in hand to help out in any way he could.  Even if he just sat there for the companionship and his daily lunch  provided by Bill’s wife. Above all, he will be remembered as a very easy going man and always having a smile on his face.  Bud will truly be missed by so many.

Harold is survived by his beloved children, Donna Charron, her husband Raymond, of Coventry, RI, William “Bill” Braley, and his wife Yee Mei, of Coventry, and the late John M. Braley; step children, Joanne Briano, Teri Evans, and Leonard Kaczmarek. Proud grandfather of Janelle Charron-Campbell, Marissa Braley, Crystal Braley, Kristen (Kaczmarek) Van Ommen, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Sara, and Preston Evans, and 5 great grandchildren. Harold was the dear brother of the late Joyce Wilcox; step-brother Paul Phillips. He also was the beloved father in law of Lori (Walch) Braley.
