HELENE M. (LOMBARDI) ZELENKA

ZELENKA, HELENE M. (LOMBARDI) 75, of Providence Street, West Warwick, passed away at Kent Hospital on Saturday, October 12, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Edward D. Zelenka for 52 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Sando and Angelina (Mariorenzi) Lombardi.

Helene, a lifelong resident of West Warwick, graduated from Saint Xavier High School in Providence, class of 1967. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the former Mount Saint Joseph’s College located in Wakefield, RI. Helene taught second and third grade elementary school students in the North Kingstown School System for over 39 years before retiring. In her retirement, Helene enjoyed playing the slot machines at the nearby casinos, especially at Mohegan Sun. She also enjoyed taking scenic rides throughout New England.

Helene was the caring mother of Kristen and Kerry Zelenka, both of West Warwick. She is also survived by her sister Sandra DiRocco.
