HORACE P. RUZZO JR.

RUZZO JR., HORACE P., 89, of Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday evening, March 28, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Rose Ann (Santilli) Ruzzo. They were happily married for 66 years. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Horace P. and Mary (Petrarca) Ruzzo.

Horace graduated from West Warwick High School in 1955. He went on to a dedicated career as a steel worker for the former Plantation Steel and later Rusco Steel in Warwick for over 32 years before retiring in 1999. Horace was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Natick. 

Horace loved spending time with his family, especially with his three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing golf, traveling to New Hampshire and taking his daily drives around town.

Horace was the caring father of Mark A. Ruzzo and his wife Christine of West Warwick. He was the adoring grandfather of Nina L. Ruzzo-Iacono and her husband David, Derek A. Ruzzo, and Nicole C. Ruzzo and her fiance David Paris; and the great-grandfather of Luca and Gino. Horace was the brother of the late Elviro Ruzzo, Angelo Ruzzo, Rimmage Ruzzo, Margaret Ruzzo and Dolores Allen. Horace is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 8:30 am to 10:00 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.,(95/exit 18/Rte.3) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church. Interment at  Saint Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) would be appreciated. iannottifh.com
