JAMES E. HARRIS

HARRIS, JAMES E., 79, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. 

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Herbert D. and Evelyn C. (LaFrance) Harris. 

Spending his early years growing up in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and then later moving to Seekonk, Massachusetts, James then proudly enlisted and served his country in the United States Army. He then resided in Tennessee for sometime working as a Barber and also in the Automobile Industry. It was there he made close personal relationships with the likes of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Ronnie Milsap. Above all James will be remembered for his selfless willingness to always help others.  

He was the father of Angela Johnson and the late Danielle Dwen. James is survived by his grandchildren and extended family members. Dear brother of Evelyn Harris, Charles Harris and the late Herbert Harris, Ronald Harris, Peter Harris, and Patricia Simmons. James was the former husband of Margaret Natalizzia and Ginger Harris. He also leaves behind his dear friend Chrissy Furtado. 

Family and friends are invited to attend James’s inurnment with Military Funeral Honors on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 S County Trail, Exeter. Those planning to attend are asked to gather at 10:30 AM by the main entrance of the cemetery. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
