JAMES T. JACQUES

James T. Jacques, 78, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Kingstown.  He was the beloved husband of his high school sweetheart, the late Barbara (Spitznagle) Jacques who passed away in 2016.

Born in Pawtucket, RI on November 6, 1945 he was the beloved son of the late Joseph R. and Alice F. (Martin) Jacques.

A resident of Coventry since 2016, James previously resided in Cranston and Providence.  His love of cars led him into his passion as an auto mechanic where he worked for many years at Action Auto, Incorporated.  He was a proud owner of a Ford Falcon and a Lincoln Town Car.

James also loved the ‘casinos’ and was a member of the “Drifters,” a local antique car cruising club. 

James leaves behind Maya Cowen-Tavino, who James fondly thought of as a daughter.
