LaMOUNTAIN, JAMES V., passed away peacefully on his 90th birthday, March 6, 2026, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Providence, RI and lived most of his life in the Warwick/Coventry area.
James is survived by his former wife of 46 years, Annabelle LaMountain (Teuton), his daughters Melissa Mastrostefano (Anthony), Jennifer Frye (David), Melanie LaMountain, and Jamie Douglas (Robert); his sister Jean Lombardi; his grandchildren Mariel, David, Jonathan, James, Michael, Matthew, and Connor as well as eight great grandchildren, and many loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alice LaMountain Verville (Mack) and Thomas J. LaMountain as well as five brothers, Thomas, Joseph, John, Robert, and Edward.
James served in the Army at the end of the Korean War. He was a hardworking family man who was kind and generous. Though he was a roofing contractor for most of his life, his true passion was writing plays. “My Brother Tony" was produced and performed in Barrington and Newport, RI.
The family will hold a private gathering at a later date.
